NEW CAPITAL ONE ARENA IMPROVEMENTS FOR 2018-19
Monumental Sports and Entertainment is announcing an array of state-of-the-art updates to the fan experience at Capital One Arena as part of our $40 million-dollar renovation investment. This renovation will be entirely privately financed and will ensure that the fan experience at Capital One Arena remains on the cutting edge.
The renovations will begin in February 2018. Among the upgrades will be:
- More Comfortable Seats: Brand new padded seats with cupholders throughout the arena beginning in the Capitals and Wizards 2018-19 season
- Modern, Cutting Edge Sound System: Entirely new, state-of-the-art sound system designed to deliver the sharpest, clearest game and concert sound throughout the arena. No matter where in the arena you're sitting, you'll hear clean, powerful sound.
- Renovated Concourses: Concourses on the 100 and 400 levels will get a complete overhaul, including new flooring, new lighting, and new décor for a sleeker, more modern feel.
- New Lounges and Clubs: In addition to the renovation of the PwC club, we will add multiple new destination lounges and clubs to Capital One Arena, including a newly-designed main concourse lounge, party suite and a new premium club.
- Delicious Culinary Experience: The new concessions, bars and clubs at the arena will showcase some of the world-class culinary talent that Washington, DC has to offer. All concession stands throughout the arena will be renovated and modernized. New celebrity chefs, including Cat Cora and Alex McCoy, will bring their cuisine to the arena, as well; we'll have more announcements on the celebrity chefs in the near future.
- Renovated PwC Club: The PwC Club will undergo a total overhaul and will be a transformed destination for fans.
- Clearer Digital Displays and LED Signage: Fans will notice new digital displays in each quadrant of the concourses as well as upgraded internal wayfinding signage to make the arena even easier to navigate.
- Retail Store Now Open Year-Round: The renovation will include the updating of the flagship retail store at Capital One Arena, which will now be open to fans year-round, making it easier to purchase the newest, hottest gear anytime.
- The Connected Fan: Monumental360 Fan Platform: Part of our investment in Capital One Arena includes further developing cutting-edge technology that allows us to better serve our fans. The Connected Fan, our new Monumental360 program, will provide us with data that will give us a better understanding of our fans' preferences and interests, which will allow us to deliver an improved and more personalized fan experience, from food and beverage to special offers to specifically-tailored digital content.
- New Cornerstone Partnerships: Capital One Arena's renovation will feature multiple fully-immersed zones throughout the venue. The zones will utilize world-class digital displays and unique fan engagements to allow partners to be fully-integrated into the fan experience for all 230 annual events at Capital One Arena. Monumental Sports' Global Partnerships team will seek 6 Cornerstone Partners to own these zones.
